The scene begins with UTA reporter Robert Leverbe is the front of an extremely busy restaurant. There is a long line of people who are waiting to be seated. Robert attempts to walk in ahead of them with his cameraman but he is stopped by two burly men in black suits.
Security: Excuse me sir, but there are no cameras allowed on these premises. You'll have to leave now.
Robert: I don't think you understand. I was invited here by Mr. Dibando. Here is my invitation and permission to bring a camera in here (hands him a slip of paper.)
Security: I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we have strict procedures around here. Follow me and I'll take you to Mr. Dibando.
The security guard begins walking to the back of the restaurant, past all the other tables. Finally he stops at door in the back that is marked, PRIVATE. He opens the door to reveal Marsiquillio's private lounge at this restaurant. It is a huge set of rooms, as big as the regular part of the restaurant. As the door is opened you can see a large table, plus several large chairs and couches. This room also has its own private bar and bartender. In addition to Marsiquillio there are about fifteen other men and women in the room, sipping on drinks and smoking cigars. A song by Rosemary Clooney is playing in the background and everybody appears to be having a good time. Marsiquillio is sitting on a couch, talking to a woman when he notices Robert and the camera. He excuses himself and goes over to Robert.
Marsiquillio: Hello Robert, welcome to my home away from home. Did you manage to get through security okay?
Robert: Yeah, he didn't really give me a problem. This is a nice little room you have yourself back here.
Marsiquillio: It should be, after all I do own this restaurant. So do you want to meet some of my friends first or tape the interview? I'm not exactly sure what you had in mind.
Robert: Well I just wanted to give the viewers at home some insight in to how you spend your down time. I was thinking that we'd do a feature on the party where you sort of guide us around and give your commentary. You can even speak about the UTA if you want to. (He starts to scan the room, looking at the guests) Hey isn't that "Fat" Tony Rizzato sitting in that chair over there. What the hell, is he sitting next to "Terrible" Joey Giavoni. What kind of party are you throwing here? Those are two of the most feared men in this city and are the reputed heads of the Rizzato and Giavoni crime families. I thought you told me that you had nothing to do with the mob?
Marsiquillio: Those two men are who you say they are but I assure you that they are not criminals. They happen to be two of my oldest and dearest friends and if you check carefully have not been convicted of any crimes. In fact let's go meet them right now and you'll discover that they are a couple of nice guys.
Marsiquillio leads Robert over to the bar where the two men are sitting down, talking to each other. Marsiquillio gets to the bar and orders a couple of drinks and then sits down next to "Fat" Tony.
Marsiquillio: Excuse me Tony, Joe, I hate to interrupt your conversation but I'd like to introduce you to a friend of mine. This is Robert Leverbe and he works for the UTA, my wrestling promotion. Robert this is Joe Giavoni and Anthony Rizzato.
Tony: Pleased to meet you Robert.
Joey: Same here. By the way what kind of name is Leverbe, you aren't some kind of fruitcake or nothing are ya.
Robert begins to sweat as he is teased by the two men for a few moments. Finally Marsiquillio intervenes.
Marsiquillio: Now, now, Joe is just messing around with you Robert. He's always been a terrible kidder, haven't you Joey.
Joey: Yeah, a real Terrible kidder.
All the men burst out in laughter at that, except for Robert, who appears to be terrified by the two men, whom he believes are hardened killers. After the laughter subsides the waiters start to come into the room from another door. They bring many platters of food to the table starting with penne al a vodka. Marsiquillio motions for everybody to take their seat at the table and Robert follows along.
Robert: So Mr. Rizzato, what do you do for a living?
Tony: What is this, some kind of interview?
Robert: Well actually it is. That's what I do for a living and Marsiquillio invited me here to interview his friends and him.
Tony: Hey relax fella, don't get so uptight. My business is construction and to be more specific, concrete. I own the third largest concrete company in the United States.
Robert: Oh yeah, I've seen the trucks. Okay, have you seen your good friend, Marsiquillio, in the ring yet?
Tony: Of course I have. Are you saying that I'm too cheap to fork over the 40 bucks to see the Pay-Per-View. If you are, I should warn you that the last punk who called me a cheapskate spent three weeks at Roosevelt in the Intensive Care unit. What, has the cat got your tongue you little prick face? You know what I think that I'm going to have to teach your disrespectful ass a little respect. Sorry to do this at your party, Marsiquillio but its necessary.
Robert just sits there looking like he's seen a ghost. Suddenly Tony quickly reaches into his suit jacket pocket like he's reaching for a gun. Instead he points his finger at Robert and yells, "BANG". Everybody at the table bursts out into laughter except for Robert who just sits there with a bright red face.
Tony: Hey what did you think this was, an episode of The Sopranos. We're not bad people, kid, really we're not. We have families and friends that we love just like everybody else. We're really just regular people that have gotten a bad rap. I mean do you really think that if another person you just met pointed at you, that you would react so harshly. Don't believe everything you see on the TV, because sometimes they exaggerate stuff.
Robert: Well maybe I did prejudge you guys a little. From now on I'll try and have an open mind about people until I get to know them a little better. Back to the questions, I'd like to know what you think of the competition that Marsiquillio goes up against in the ring?
Joey: Hey let me answer that one, all right? I'm a very big fan of the UTA and I've been watching it since before Marsiquillio was ever there. In all the years I've spent watching I've never seen anybody like Marsiquillio. And now that he's teamed up with Aprile's boy, Dominick and that other beast, Crimson Lord, forget about it. Those three are gonna bring home a ton of gold before they're done.
Marsiquillio: Hey Joey, come on man. You know that we're up against some pretty tough competition. That Spectre really scares me, you know. With all the time he spends digging up corpses, you know that kinda unnerves me a little bit. I mean, its really scary that a man could be into fooling around with dead bodies, but whatever floats his boat is cool with me.
Joey: Yeah I know what you mean. You'd think with all that quality time he spends with his little dead girlfriends that he wouldn't have any time to spend with the animals that he loves so much. But next thing you know, he's making a trip to the Zoo, badda bing.
Once again the whole table bursts out in laughter, which continues for about thirty seconds.
Robert: Don't you guys think you should be showing respect to a former UTA heavyweight champion and living legend, like Spectre?
Tony: Marsiquillio, where did you find such a stand up guy to do your interviews from? Why don't you just relax kid, Marsiquillio knows what he's doing.
Marsiquillio: Robert, lighten up, will ya? You're starting to kill the atmosphere in here with all this respect talk. I show the proper respect to all my opponents whether they deserve it or not. That's how I've always operated and it's how I'll continue to operate. We were just having a little fun at the Spawn's expense, but in all seriousness those guys are through. They've definitely fallen behind our brand new Trinity on the pecking order and they're probably below Iron Fury, if only because they've just got so many damn cousins to keep filling up the ranks. If people actually take a minute to examine the situation they'd realize that we've already got some major hardware in the Trinity more then Spawn or Iron Fury can boast of. And the best part is that we're all hungry and want more.
Robert: Yeah, but you're booked against Scott this Tuesday. Don't you think this Trinity will fall apart?
Joey: Hey, don't interrupt the man when he's speaking.
Marsiquillio: That's just his way, Joey, don't worry about it. He's a hard hitting reporter and that's what he does. As for Tuesday night I'm on record and so is Scott, as saying that this match will not affect the group in any way. Both of us are going to give it all we've got and no matter what happens we're going to be there backing up Dominick when he gets his World Title shot that night. And before you even accuse me of it, I'll say that in no way am I not 110% committed to winning and holding on to my title belt. Friend or not, I'm going to treat Crimson like any other opponent and hopefully we'll give the fans a good match to see.
After he finishes speaking a drop dead gorgeous brunette, walks over to Marsiquillio and sits down next to him. Robert stares at her enviously as she takes a hold of Marsiquillio's hand and whispers something into his ear.
Marsiquillio: I'm sorry Robert, but I'm going to have to cut this little behind the scenes episode short. It seems as if I have some important duties, as a host, of course, that I must attend to.
Robert: Well aren't you going to introduce me to your girlfriend, it was part of the deal for me to meet your friends.
Marsiquillio: Of course, your right. I wouldn't want to be rude now. But this isn't my girlfriend, in fact I just met her two days ago. This is Amber, say hello to the man Amber.
Amber: Hello there, I saw you on TV the other day with my Marsiquillio.
Marsiquillio: That's enough talking honey, we don't need to have him annoyed to death in my restaurant. Any way I've got to be going but if you need to know more about Amber you can check out the March 98 issue of Playboy, Amber was the centerfold.
Robert: The centerfold? Really?
Marsiquillio: Yeah, I'm afraid so. Anyhow, I've got to be going now Robert. Feel free to enjoy the rest of the meal with my friends here.
Robert: (Whispers to Marsiquillio) You're leaving me with your friends. Please don't do this to me, I think they want to kill me.
Marsiquillio: Didn't you learn anything today. Give them a chance and I know you'll get to love them. Now I must be going, so goodbye.
As Marsiquillio gets up and begins to say his goodbyes to each person at the party, individually, another beautiful woman takes a seat next to Robert. He looks over at her and she winks at him. He smiles back.
Robert: Hey there, I'm Robert.
April: Hi there I'm April. Don't I know you from the television.
Robert: Well I guess you can say that I'm a journalist. I work as a reporter for the UTA.
April: Oh yeah that's where I saw you. My Dad's a big wrestling fan.
Robert: Your Dad?
April: Yeah, you probably met him today, Joe Giavoni. I'm his oldest daughter. But enough about him, I always thought that you were so hot on TV Why don't we sneak out of her back to your place.
Robert: Uhhh, I don't know about that. How old are you exactly.
April: I'm 22 silly. What'd you think I was, some sort of jailbait. Uh oh, my Dad's back you better be careful.
Robert: Huh?
Joey: You little, sick, perverted, son of a bitch. What the hell are you doing with my daughter. She's only 17.
Robert: Oh no, God no. I swear she said she was 22. Oh please sir, I'm so sorry.
Robert begins to break down into tears, like a little baby, kneeling in front of Joey. Finally Joey looks down at him and begins to break into laughter. Soon everybody in the room is falling down laughing while Robert just sits there crying
Joey: Hey relax there, pal. I was only fooling with ya again. She's really 22 and I don't give a rat's ass who she goes out with. I never interfere because I don't want to be like the typical over protective dads. I love my daughter a lot.
Robert: (Still sobbing) Really? I've got to go now. Thanks for the dinner everybody.
Robert bolts out of the room as quickly as possible, wiping his tears. But maybe this day can have a happy ending after all ....
April: Hey wait for me Robert, I love a man who's in touch with his feminine side.
She takes off after him as the scene fades to black.
